During 2014, new forest plantations were established on an area of 42.8 thousand hectares by the forestry companies of the General Directorate of Forestry. Of this, 39,000 hectares of desert areas were planted to prevent desertification and sand migration, including 16,800 hectares of dry Aral Sea, to partially moderate the ecological situation and reduce the release of harmful salts into the atmosphere.

Forest violations were detected in 75 cases (25 million soums) in the first quarter of 2015, including arbitrary cutting of trees in 55 cases (23.5 million soums), arbitrary grazing of livestock in 20 cases (1.5 million soums) the damage was determined and recovered.
