Hawthorn: drought tolerant, waterlogged fruit
Hawthorn (Crataegus L.) is a tree or shrub belonging to the family of flowering plants. There are 890 species of it in the world, of which 10 species grow in Uzbekistan. In the mountainous regions of our country, at an altitude of 1000-1500 m above sea level, it often grows singly, sometimes there are also small hawthorn groves.
This plant is very resistant to drought and grows in any place, giving a constant abundant harvest. It ripens in August-September.
The fruit is small, juicy, sweet, red to yellow in color. It is eaten fresh. In industry, alcohol is also obtained from it.
Enzymes contained in the fruit have a positive effect on hormones in the human body. This helps to overcome the complications of depression, chronic fatigue and nervousness in a person.
Also, by taking hawthorn extract, a person will lose anxiety. For this reason, it has been used as a natural sedative for many years.
