Specialization of forestry, introduction of modern seedling cultivation technologies and finding sustainable solutions to environmental problems are among the urgent issues of today. On January 27 of this year, a number of tasks were set at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in this direction. In particular, an assignment was given to specialize 18 state forestry enterprises.

A videoconference meeting was held under the chairmanship of Erkin Muhiddinov, Director of the Forestry Agency, dedicated to ensuring the implementation of this task. The meeting, which was attended by responsible employees of the agency, heads of relevant forestry enterprises, and representatives of the Chinese company "Taitou", analyzed the existing shortcomings in the industry.

The national project "Green Space", launched at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, today plays an important role in solving environmental problems, ensuring clean air and reducing the negative impact of climate change, - said Erkin Muhiddinov, Director of the Forestry Agency. - As part of the work being carried out in this regard, great attention is paid to the cultivation of seedlings using modern methods and the creation of a reserve for the purpose of greening territories.

The Chinese company "Taitou" expressed its proposals for the introduction of modern methods of seedling cultivation in our country, the development of seedlings and investment. Foreign partners plan to invest in 18 forestry enterprises and gradually carry out all activities related to the cultivation of seedlings. At the same time, it will ensure the adaptation of imported tree and shrub seedlings, guaranteeing the viability of seedlings. Together with local specialists, information on the organization of nurseries will be analyzed, and seedlings suitable for the regions will be selected and planted.

In turn, forestry enterprises will be responsible for creating the necessary conditions in their territories, allocating land and assisting in the sale of ready-made seedlings. In accordance with the tasks set by the Head of State, the Khojaly, Nukus, Bukhara, Gijduvan, Jizzakh, Shurtan, Kitab, Navoi, Navbahor, Namangan, Ortaorol, Samarkand, Dargom, Surkhandarya, Uzun, Tashkent, Ahangaran and Fergana state forestry enterprises will be transformed into specialized seedling centers.

According to the project, in the process of establishing nurseries, their land area will be expanded, the types and quantity of seedlings, and the number of local and imported tree species will be increased. Also, a reserve of tree seeds and seedlings will be created, which will be propagated vegetatively. Scientific research is being conducted using "in vitro" technology.

It is worth noting that today, in forestry, the mechanisms for growing seedlings based on the necessary agrotechnical technologies, providing sufficient irrigation and protecting them from diseases are being improved. Also, in the future, efforts will be further strengthened to grow large-scale seedlings, and to establish the care of high-quality and strong seedlings.

This initiative will take the nursery sector in our country to a new level. A modern seedling cultivation system will be formed, forestry will be specialized, and the country's ecosystem will be strengthened.
