Reasonable use of forest resources is an urgent demand today!


A press conference was held at the Forestry Agency on the topic "The rational use of forest resources is today's urgent demand".

Improper use of land and sand-salt dust storms blowing from the dry Arol Sea region have led to degradation of land and important social problems in some regions of our country. In particular, not only in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, but also in Bukhara, Navoi and Khorezm regions, in 2000-2018, 8 million hectares of land were subjected to various levels of salinization and more than 1 million hectares of land were eroded. This is 96% of the total area of these regions.


It should also be noted that strong winds and sandstorms are often observed in our republic in recent years. At this point, one of the most important urgent issues is to increase the surrounding trees and forests, which prevent sand migration disasters in desert areas. In some areas, there are opportunities to easily collect rainwater and use it to build gardens and groves.


As you know, the nationwide project "Green Space" is being implemented in our country, aimed at improving the ecological situation and greening the regions. Within the framework of these activities, in the spring and autumn seasons of 2022, a total of more than 200 million ornamental and fruit tree and shrub seedlings and cuttings were planted in the territory of our Republic.


Planting activities within the project are also being continued this year. As a result, as of March 29 of this year, 115 mln. seedlings and cuttings (92 percent compared to the plan) were planted and entered into the "Green Space" electronic platform.


In additin, in cooperation with "Yashil hudud" DUK and its regional enterprises and local governments, practical work is being carried out on the establishment of "green gardens" and "green public parks". As a result, in 2022, "green parks" were established on an area of 588.4 hectares (101% compared to the plan) and "green public parks" were established on an area of 662.3 hectares (61% compared to the plan).


As part of the "Green Space" project, seedlings and seedlings grown in the regions, as well as the practice of planting seedlings depending on the sun, climate and soil conditions, were regularly studied.


During 2022, a number of forestry activities were carried out by forestry companies. In particular, a total of 176,600 hectares in the desert areas of the forest fund, i.e., the dry bottom of the Aral Sea and the Aral Bay region, of which 110,000 hectares are in the Moynaq district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 40,000 hectares in the Bukhara region. hectares, 16,000 hectares in Navoi region and 10,600 hectares in Khorezm region, "green covers" were established.


A total of 856 tons of seeds of desert plants were collected for these activities. The forestry department established nurseries and nurseries on an area of 220 hectares of trees and shrubs suitable for the climate. On 1,000 hectares of irrigated agricultural land, tree plantations were established on the edges of the fields.


In 2017-2022, 43 normative legal documents related to the forestry sector were adopted for the development of the sector.


In particular, 2 laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 3 Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 8 decisions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and 30 decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers were adopted. In these normative legal documents, implementation of the concept of development of the forestry system in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030, ensuring the integration of science and production in forestry, stimulating research and development and international standards It is envisaged to improve the system of training of personnel with advanced foreign experience corresponding to the level.


In 2021, 6,433 plans were received to ensure the employment of unemployed people and create jobs under the "Address Plan", and in 2022, 9,472 unemployed people were provided with employment. In 2022, 10,054 plans were received to ensure the employment of unemployed people and create jobs, and as of December 31, 11,166 unemployed people (3414 youth, 1626 women) were provided with employment. .
