The drying up of the Aral Sea has become the center of environmental disaster not only in the region, but also globally

It is known that the Aral Sea and the Aral Bay region are administratively located in the territory of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, and include the lower part of the Amudarya and Syrdarya rivers and the areas around the sea, as well as its northeastern and southern parts due to the lowering of the sea level. It includes the desert of Arol, which was formed in the

In recent years, the Ministry of Emergencies, together with local governments, have taken large-scale measures aimed at preventing the global environmental problem and improving the socio-economic way of life of the population in the dry area of the Aral Sea.

According to the legislation established in our country, improving the ecological situation, reducing the negative impact of sand, salt and dust particles rising from the dry bottom of the Aral Sea and the Aral Bay region, establishing "green covers" from desert plants in these areas. all measures are being implemented in order to consistently continue their work and further mitigate the negative effects of global climate change.

In particular, in 2022, "green covers" of saxophone and other desert plants were established on an area of 107,000 hectares. A total of 590.3 tons, of which 391 tons of seeds of desert plants were collected by local residents, 100 hectares of saxovol and other desert plants were established as nurseries, and 635 workers, 250 units of high-performance tractors and 2 units of small aviation (AN-2) were involved.

In addition, these established "green covers" are constantly monitored by field scientists, and good results are being achieved in terms of the greening of desert plants.

In the spring season of 2023, "green coverings" were established on an area of 125,000 hectares. For this, 541 tons of seeds of desert plants were collected. 500 workers, 200 units of high-performance tractors and mechanisms, 2 units of small aviation (AN-2 aircraft) and 2 units of hang-gliders were voluntarily involved in the implementation of these forest reclamation activities. The world community is interested in Uzbekistan, which has enough experience in this regard.

In particular, the ambassadors of more than 40 foreign countries came to Moynaq in order to get acquainted with the archipelago regions. They were welcomed by Amanbay Orinbayev, chairman of the Dzhokorg Council of Karakalpakstan. Forestry representatives G. Kurbanov and Z. Navitsky talked about the afforestation works in the desert areas of Moynak district, the biology of desert plants, etc. was shown.

It is noted that during the past years, the area of the Aral Sea until 1960 was 6.6 million hectares. At the same time, 5.5 million hectares of land were covered by drought, and the Orolkum desert appeared. As a result of the drying up of the sea and the acceleration of salinity, about 50,000 hectares of arable land have become unsuitable for agricultural use in recent years.

Today, this situation has become a problem not only of the Central Asian region, but also of the peoples of the whole world. Therefore, it is necessary to jointly develop technologies for efficient use of water resources for crops, otherwise this process will continue. It is true that a lot of positive work is being done in our country to mitigate environmental impact. By sowing seeds and planting saplings in places occupied by drought, saxovulls and natural cherkes and ephedra plants are increasing.
