The drying up of the Aral Sea has become the center of environmental disaster not only in our region, but globally
Ensuring ecological safety and environmental protection on the island, rational use of natural resources, protection of public health, preservation of the pristine natural environment for present and future generations, consistent solution of the problems of flora and fauna protection, biological Preventing the reduction of diversity, combating the negative consequences of climate change, expanding the area of transboundary protected natural areas, reducing atmospheric air pollution, especially the effective use of water resources, and mitigating the negative consequences of sea erosion have stopped for a moment. 'q.
In fact, the drying up of the Aral Sea has become the center of ecological disaster not only in our region, but also globally.
In recent years, the prevention of the global environmental problem and population in the dry area of the Aral Sea
wide-scale measures aimed at improving the socio-economic way of life were carried out.
In particular, special decisions and programs of the Government have been adopted, within the framework of assigned tasks and projects a number of practical activities were carried out.
In particular, during the years 2018-2022, in the dry area of the Aral Sea in the Moynaq district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, protective forests of "green covers" were established from the seeds and seedlings of desert plants on an area of 1.6 million hectares.
6,400 tons of seeds of saxovol and other desert plants were collected by the employees of forestry and residents. Out of this, more than 1.3 thousand tons of seeds were prepared by the residents of Moynaq district. Preparation of 1.3 thousand hectares (baraz) has been completed. On average, up to 1,000 pieces of equipment and mechanisms, 4 airplanes and 2 hang gliders were involved every year.
These forest reclamation activities were carried out together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regional governments. Activities aimed at improving the ecological situation in the republic's territories, including the dry bottom of the Aral Sea, are being continued consistently this year. In particular, in 2023, in the Moynaq district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, "green covers" were established on an area of 128,000 hectares, of which 126,000 hectares were seeds and 6,000 hectares were seedlings.
A total of 541 tons, of which 447 tons of saxovolum, 7.2 tons of sugarcane, 84 tons of seeds of desert plants and 2.7 tons of pasture plants were collected by forestry enterprises and local residents. 269 tons of these collected seeds were collected and handed over by the population.
500 workers, 200 units of high-performance tractors and mechanisms, 2 units of small aviation (AN-2 aircraft) and 2 units of hang gliders were voluntarily involved in the implementation of these forest reclamation activities. In order to continue the establishment of "green covers" in the next season, saxophone nurseries were established. The "green covers" established above are monitored every year in cooperation with field scientists and relevant ministries and agencies, and the degree of germination of planted seeds and seedlings and plant cover are being studied.
In addition to restoring the balance of ecosystems and ensuring biodiversity in the region, it creates an opportunity to ensure the employment of the population, environmental and food security in the region through the creation of infrastructures, the development of livestock, fisheries, poultry, agriculture and tourism.
