President Shavkat Mirziyoyev planted a sapling in a new park being built as part of the “Green Space” nationwide project today, November 23. The presidential press service reported this.

During the tree planting, the head of state talked with representatives of the public and foreign diplomats, expressing gratitude to them for their contribution to this initiative.

“We have this tradition. Our people call nature “mother”, respect the land and water. The truth behind this is clearly manifested in the impact of current environmental problems. That is why we launched the “Green Space” project. We have also dedicated the name of next year to the issue of environmental protection. Now these initiatives need to be widely spread, especially deeply absorbed by our youth. Every household, every enterprise should contribute to nature conservation,” said Mirziyoyev.

The public of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the regions also watched. Saplings were planted there as well. It is noted that this fall season, it is planned to plant 80 million tree and shrub seedlings as part of the "Green Space" project.
