To date, 1.7 thousand hectares of unused land of the Forest Fund have been developed and brought into circulation. A total of 163,600 hectares in the desert areas of the forest fund, i.e. the dry bottom of the Aral Sea and the Aral Bay region, including 98,000 hectares in the Moynaq district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 40,000 hectares in the Bukhara region, "Green covers" were established on 15 thousand hectares in Navoi region and 10.6 thousand hectares in Khorezm region. On 1,000 hectares of irrigated agricultural land, tree plantations were established on the edges of the fields.

It should be noted that a total of 856 tons of seeds of desert plants were collected for these events. A nursery and nurseries were established on an area of 200 hectares of trees and shrubs suitable for the climate by the forestry department. Cultivated plantations of medicinal and food plants were established on an area of 1,000 hectares.

Activities aimed at improving the ecological situation in the republic's territories, including the dry bottom of the Aral Sea, are being continued consistently this year. In particular, in 2023, in the Moynaq district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, "green coverings" were established on an area of 127,000 hectares, of which 106,000 hectares were seeds and 4,000 hectares were seedlings. A total of 541 tons, of which 447 tons of saxovol, 7.2 tons of sugarcane, 84 tons of seeds of desert plants and 2.7 tons of pasture plants were collected by forest farms and local residents. 269 tons of these collected seeds were collected and handed over by the population.

Within the framework of the national project "Green Space" together with the State Committee of Forestry and local governments, 195,000 ornamental and fruit trees were planted in the territories of neighborhoods and social organizations with the participation of the young population (more than 1,000 young people).
