There are reasons why the number of mulberry trees has increased compared to previous years...

The natural climate and soil conditions of Uzbekistan are favorable in all respects for the development of the fodder base of cocoons. Cocooning is also a source of additional income for the farm.

The mulberry tree, when planted in a mix with other trees, acts as a hedge to protect crops from heat and cold winds. The leaves of the planted mulberries of this type can be partially used as food for silkworms, and seeds can be taken from the fruits and seedlings can be grown. On the other hand, mulberry and other surrounding trees help to lower the level of flood waters by evaporating underground water from their bodies and improve land reclamation.

Therefore, the importance of mulberry trees against salinity and waterlogging is very great. Any agronomist, including a specialist in cocooning, should know the structure of its organs, the reaction of mulberry to external environmental factors, the agro-rules of reproduction methods, and the methods of feeding silkworms with mulberry leaves in order to achieve a high yield from mulberry trees.

The Bukhara Scientific Experiment Station is carrying out planting of 2 hectares of mulberry seeds.

Since the main source of food for silkworms is mulberry tree leaves, maintaining and further developing the existing food base in the cocoon industry is considered the main factor for increasing the volume of cocoon production. People who have been working in the industry for many years know very well that a small amount of food is not necessary to feed silkworms. This is the reason why the number of tutzors occupying large areas in the regions is increasing compared to previous years.
