The place where the waste is not dumped is clean, not the place where it is collected!
According to statistics, only one-third of the daily household waste is recycled. Therefore, waste processing and disposal are becoming more and more important.
19,000-20,000 tons of waste are generated in Uzbekistan per day. The waste consists of various metals, glass containers, waste paper, plastic, food waste, and only 32% of them are recycled.
In order to protect the environment, flora and fauna in Uzbekistan, proposals are being developed to include in the legislation the issue of applying large fines and even announcing financial sanctions to offenders.
According to the Minister of Natural Resources, Aziz Abduhakimov, based on the experience of Singapore, Japan, and Korea, in these countries, whether it is chewing gum or tobacco residue, or polymer waste, throwing them on the street will result in a large fine. . Financial sanctions are even applied to them. But this has not yet been introduced in our country. The new legislation takes into account exactly such measures. These will be included in the legislation. Today, similar measures are being developed to keep Uzbekistan clean and green.
"Among our people, there is a proverb that says, 'The place where waste is not dumped is clean, not the place where it is collected.' We want to turn this issue into one of the slogans of our ministry," says A. Abduhakimov.
