The use of modern medicine has its own rules!
It is known that in 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the regulation on the Scientific and Production Center for Cultivation and Processing of Medicinal Plants under the State Forestry Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Cultivation and processing of medicinal plants on a scientific basis, formulation and implementation of a single strategy for their rational use, study of the areas of medicinal plants growing wild and identification of reserves, preservation of the gene pool of existing bioresources, organization of mother plantations, seeds conducting scientific and practical research related to the cultivation and preparation, reproduction, establishment of collective nurseries and processing of their raw materials, cultural cultivation of medicinal plants taking into account specific soil and climate conditions Development of scientific-based proposals for planting, development of agro-technological maps of culturally grown medicinal plants, taking into account soil and climate conditions, according to the order of the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Committee for Forestry The main tasks of the Center are to carry out marketing research on researching the chemical composition of medicinal plants, product standardization and certification, as well as studying the demand of domestic and foreign markets for medicinal plants.
In recent years, the implementation of a number of decisions of the President and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at increasing the production of medicinal plants in our country and improving the demand of the population and pharmaceutical enterprises for raw materials of medicinal plants and increasing the volume of preparation of raw materials of medicinal plants for export. Based on the tasks assigned to the Center, several works were carried out in the field.
In particular, in 2023, plantations will be established on an area of 5,280 hectares, the volume of raw material preparation will reach 9,62 tons, and the cultivated species will reach 65, or the volume of raw material preparation will increase by 2.2 times. Today, a total of 29 employees work in the Center. 9 of them are technical workers, 20 are managers and scientific workers, and specialists.
It should be noted that during 2021-2022, 3 of the 4 laboratories planned to be established within the Center, i.e. the Laboratory of Introduction and Agrotechnics of Medicinal Plants, the Laboratory of Selection and Breeding of Medicinal Plants, the Laboratory of Medicinal Plants The activity of raw material processing technology laboratories has been fully established. A total of 374.5 million soums were spent within the budget funds for the current repair and equipment of the buildings where these laboratories are located.
In 2022, an expedition organized by the Center planted medicinal plants for the first time in the last 30 years on the lands of the forest fund in 6 forestry farms of Kashkadarya region (in mountain and sub-mountain areas). scientific-research works were carried out on learning. As a result, 5 types of rare and endangered plants growing wild on 166 hectares, distribution areas of 34 types of medicinal and food plants on 5062 hectares were studied and reserves were determined. Also, electronic maps of the identified plant world objects were created according to the requirements and forms of the state cadastre data of the geoinformation database. Of these, 621 hectares of land where it is possible to establish mother plantations of medicinal plants that are decreasing and in danger of disappearing have been determined. Also, herbarium samples of 145 types of medicinal plants were prepared.
In 2023, the expedition carried out scientific-research works on the study of distribution areas of medicinal plants in the lands of the forest fund of Jizzakh region (mountain and sub-mountain).
According to the results of the expedition, wild rare and endangered plants (31 species on 162.5 hectares), medicinal and food plants (43 species on 5907 hectares) Also, distribution areas of plants used for technical purposes (3 species on 12 hectares) were studied and reserves were determined. Also, the state cadastre data of the identified flora objects were formed according to the requirements and forms of the geoinformation database, and electronic maps were created using the AreGIS ArcMap program.
The Center awarded 4 practical projects to the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, 16 practical projects (7.6 billion soums) to the Innovative Development Agency, and 1 (5.5 billion soums) to the Ministry of Agriculture. . soums) practical project, 1 practical project (200 million soums) was presented to the State Forestry Committee. Therefore, based on paragraph 35 of the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 31, 2023 No. A scientific-practical project with a total cost of 750 million soums has been financed and is currently being implemented.
On February 12, 2024, the II-Uzbekistan-India international conference on "Improving education and research-2024" was held at the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technologies. Specialists of the Center actively participated in this event with their lectures. With the company "Sibirskoye zdrove" in Chortoq district of Namangan region, on 10 hectares of land, scientific research on the cultivation of 6 types of medicinal plants and the study of the chemical composition of the obtained products was launched.
Together with Japan's Yakuzimi informational education center, a project program on the cultivation of medicinal plants Shirinmiya uralensis and Ephedra sinica in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and export to Japan was formed and presented to international donor organizations.
As a result of the conducted marketing studies, the demand of 20 countries for 65 types of medicinal plants was studied, and in 2024, the Forestry Agency and the Agriculture proposals were made to the ministry.
